The Brant Battalions U13B squad put together a strong weekend of hockey at the Richard Vollmer Memorial & Rep Classic, finishing as tournament finalists after a series of hard-fought games Nov. 28–30.

Brant opened the weekend with a strong 3–0 shutout over the Plattsville Rage. After two scoreless periods, the Battalions broke the deadlock in the third when Everett Clement buried the game winner off a feed from Dominic Crone. Insurance came quickly as Grayson Grosvold and Bentley Vieira added unassisted markers to seal the victory.

Their momentum carried into Game 2, where the Battalions earned a convincing 4–1 win over the Tavistock Titans. Clement struck early in the first period, followed by goals from Grosvold and Logan Baldwin in the second to build a 3–0 lead. Vieira rounded out the scoring in the third. Assists were credited to Bryson Lee, Zachary Nieman, Grayson Kristman and Baldwin.

The final round-robin matchup saw Brant face the only other undefeated team, the host Twin Centre Stars, in a high-tempo, back-and-forth contest. Brant set the tone early with first-period goals from Andrew Louch, Clement and Nieman. The Stars responded with four in the second, while Clement added his second of the game to send the teams into the third tied 4–4. Twin Centre capitalized twice in the final period to hand Brant its first loss, 6–4.

The two clubs met again for a rematch in the championship game, with the Stars edging Brant 2–0. Twin Centre scored both goals in the opening period and held on the rest of the way, shutting down Brant’s offence through a tight defensive effort.
