The second annual Teddy Bear Picnic returns to Brocksden Country School Museum on Saturday, June 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
One of the museum's most popular events of the season, the Teddy Bear Picnic offers families a chance to step back in time and enjoy a day filled with old-fashioned fun in a unique historic setting.
Organized by Jessie Campbell and her daughter, Ester Campbell, the event will feature a variety of family-friendly activities, including bubble blowing, face painting, toys from long ago and a scavenger hunt that highlights the history of the one-room schoolhouse.
A special highlight of the day will be Grandma's Storytime, with Pat Campbell sharing favourite stories with children under the shade of a tree.
Visitors can also experience what school life was like in 1910 by touring the museum, meeting the school marm dressed in period costume and trying their hand at writing on a slate just as students did more than a century ago.
Families are encouraged to bring a favourite teddy bear, a blanket and a snack to enjoy picnic-style on the museum grounds. This charming community event offers a wonderful opportunity to make special memories and celebrate the arrival of summer.
Brocksden Country School Museum is located at 2719 Perth Line 37 on Vivian Street, just off Highway 7/8 between Stratford and Shakespeare.
