A group of young “kidpreneurs” made good use of their P.A. Day on April 24, setting up a drive-thru lemonade and bracelet stand on Miller Ave. in Shakespeare. Their efforts paid off, raising close to $100, which the entrepreneurial group chose to donate to Sprucedale Public School. Customer Julie Wynette gave the venture a perfect 10 out of 10.
Meanwhile at Sprucedale Public School, an impromptu team effort brought parents and students together to address a playground safety concern. A significant amount of sand, used over the winter to help manage icy conditions, had accumulated on the blacktop and was creating slippery conditions during recess. To address the issue, Sprucedale parent and school council member Julie Wynette organized a group of volunteers who arrived equipped with leaf blowers, shovels and brooms. Working together, they cleared the area and restored it to a safe space for play.
Overall, the P.A. Day was a strong example of community spirit in action. From young entrepreneurs running a successful lemonade and bracelet stand to parents and students working together to improve playground safety, the day highlighted teamwork, initiative and a shared commitment to Sprucedale Public School.
