Southwestern Public Health has issued a boil water advisory for residents connected to the municipal water supply on William Street south of Wettlaufer Street in Tavistock.
Until further notice, public health advises residents to bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before using it for drinking, making infant formula or juice, brushing teeth, washing raw foods or making ice.
The advisory only affects residents on William Street south of Wettlaufer Street. Diamond Street is not affected. Notices have been hand-delivered to affected residents.
This advisory is being issued as a precautionary measure in case of potential contamination following a water main break/pressure loss. Residents in this area were notified of the boil water advisory on Thursday night and will be notified again when they can return to normal water use.
