The Milverton community is mourning the loss of one of its own, remembering 13-year-old Karlie Nicole Snyder, who passed away April 4.

In the days following her passing, residents have tied colourful ribbons to posts throughout the town as a tribute to Karlie and a show of support for her family, friends and classmates.

Karlie’s parents, Ben and Alison Snyder, along with her sister, Rory, say she was a young person who set an example for others and refused to let cancer define her or how she lived her life.

They describe her as caring and sensitive, with a remarkable outlook despite the challenges she faced.

Her sense of humour and ability to bring light and laughter to those around her are among the many qualities that will be deeply missed by those who knew her.
