Tree Power returns to Perth South

The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority is once again partnering with the Township of Perth South to offer its annual Tree Power program.

The Township of Perth South and the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority (UTRCA) have once again partnered to make native trees available and affordable for residents.

The Perth South Tree Power program launched in 2021 and has been held annually since. 

Tree orders for this year opened online at https://shop.thamesriver.on.ca/product/perth-south-tree-power-trees on Aug. 11 at 9 a.m. The trees will be available for pick up at the Kirkton Community Centre on Saturday, Sept. 26. The goal of this project is to create a greener and more beautiful community by adding native trees. 

“The success of Tree Power in Perth South reflects the strong partnership between UTRCA, the township and Perth County. Our residents look forward to this annual event and have made it a tremendous success,” said Perth South Mayor Sue Orr in a press release. 

“The UTRCA is very happy to partner with the township of Perth South and run the Tree Power program for a sixth year,” added UTRCA forestry and restoration supervisor Rob Davies in the release. “We have eight species that are well suited to growing in the area and, in our experience, Perth South residents are excited to get more trees in the ground.”
