The Purple Hill Country Music Hall is located on the Taylor Farm on Purple Hill Road, east of Thorndale, north of Highway 2, and was built in the early 1990s.

Over the years, it has accommodated various events from auctions and community celebrations to music performances and weddings. The building is unique as it emulates the inside of an old barn, complete with large wooden beams, lofts, stage and rustic country collectibles that decorate the walls.

The Purple Hill Country Music Hall concerts, hosted by Anna and George Taylor on the first Sunday of each month with a catered roast beef dinner to follow, are very popular. The musical performances feature a variety of headliners from the local region and beyond, along with their Purple Hill Showband.

“We have enjoyed bringing talented country musicians here every month and I am so thrilled to add a lineup of different shows coming this spring and summer, starting with our Purple Hill Fish Fry on Saturday, April 25, with Lake Huron whitefish and entertaining live music,” George Taylor said.

“The coming months will feature more country, blues, folk and Celtic music. This wide variety of music should be of interest to many people. And the performers I booked are from this region and as far away as Ireland. Also, in August we are hosts for the fifth year – the Purple Hill Ram Rodeo – which will be a fun-packed weekend of rodeo events and country music.”
