The Stratford Police Service is seeking information from the public regarding a theft from the St. Marys Quarry that occurred overnight between Monday, June 8 and the morning of Tuesday, June 9.

It was reported to police that between 9:15 p.m. on June 8 and 9 a.m. on June 9, a trailer belonging to SuperSplash Waterpark, which operates within the St. Marys Quarry, was broken into. The trailer contained various water inflatables and power equipment that was stolen during the theft.

The value of these items is reported to exceed $70,000. Currently, police have no suspects in this matter.

In a press release issued last week, the Town of St. Marys acknowledged the theft of the SuperSplash inflatables and equipment.

“We recognize that situations like this can feel unsettling. Please know that the safety and enjoyment of our community remains a top priority. The quarry is still set to open on June 26, and we do not expect any impacts to regular operations,” the town said in the release.

“We’re working closely with police as they investigate, and we encourage anyone with information to reach out.”

The Stratford Police Service is asking for anyone with information to contact Const. Matt Welsh at 519-271-4147 ext. 8196, or to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or submit a tip online at www.p3tips.com.
