The 2nd annual Canadian Sikh Games Sports Tournament, hosted by Dashmesh Sports Club in association with United Wings Canada FC, brought together hundreds of athletes and families for two days of competition and cultural celebration at Cowan Sportsplex on July 25 and 26.

The event celebrated unity, athletics and Sikh heritage with a full slate of activities, including soccer and volleyball matches, tug-of-war, children’s track and field, three-legged races, Seep card games and musical chairs.

Participants of all ages competed and were cheered on by a lively crowd enjoying free food and family entertainment.

In the Men’s Open soccer division, won by Dashmesh FC of Brampton, teams battled for a first-place prize of $3,100, with the runners up earning $2,100. The Over 35 category awarded $1,500 and $1,000, respectively, while standout athletes were recognized among the four best players in each division. Kids' and ladies’ game winners received gift cards.

The highlight of the closing ceremony was the announcement of the Ultimate Sports Champion Basket. The prize drew applause as organizers thanked sponsors and volunteers for their support. The tournament was streamed live on YouTube via Sukhdeep Live, allowing viewers across Canada to join. Inspired by Sikh values of Seva (selfless service), equality, and Sarbat Da Bhala (welfare of all), the event reinforced community spirit and athletic excellence. For sponsorships and future participation, organizers encouraged contact at dsc.woodstock@gmail.com or through social media at United Wings Canada Soccer Academy.
