The organizer behind a charity car show is focusing more on bringing in more community-oriented activities to raise more funds to support women and children fleeing domestic violence.

Villages of Sally Creek will host its third annual Community Car Show fundraiser for Domestic Abuse Services Oxford (DASO) on June 27 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Sally Creek Community Centre at 330 Lakeview Dr., Woodstock. The free event will feature a variety of cars, a silent auction featuring more than 35 local businesses, a DJ playing music, Todd’s Dogs, ice cream, prizes, a kid’s zone, and other activities like touch-a-truck. A police cruiser, big rig transport, fire truck, and heavy hauler tow truck will all be part of the touch-a-truck portion of the event.

“The premise for this event is that kids, families and the kid in all of us will have an opportunity to get up close to some very unique vehicles that they would not normally be able to do,” said organizer Larry Oliver.

It costs $10 to enter a car in the car show and all kinds of vehicles are welcome.

“Anyone that has a car that they really like can participate,” Oliver added. “This would include trucks, cars, motorcycles, and old tractors from the early 1900’s to 2026.

The number of cars part of the car show will depend on the weather. There were 50 cars part of the 2024 showcase and 64 cars involved in the 2025 event, even though the events had heavy rain.

“If the weather cooperates, I hope to have over 100 cars attend this year’s show,” Oliver said.

The past two car shows raised a total of $6,150, including $2,600 in 2024 and $3,550 in 2025. Oliver is hoping to raise even more funds for DASO and for more participants than ever amid making the event more community focused.

“The more participation for our show, the greater the donations and awareness

for DASO,” he said.
