Tavistock’s two-game win streak was snapped Saturday night by visiting Creemore.

The Coyotes jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period before Drew Gerth’s eighth of the season gave the Royals some life. It was short-lived as the visitors took a 4-1 lead before the end of 20 minutes.

Matt Zilke’s powerplay goal, his second of the campaign, made it 4-2 midway through the second period but Creemore scored the final frame’s only goal. Deven Kropf added a pair of assists for Tavistock, which outshot its opponents 43-28.

Next action for the Royals is Saturday in Thornbury against the Georgian Bay Applekings.

About 100 players from the Tavistock and District Minor Hockey Association were in attendance, each hoping to win the night’s top prize of free registration for the 2025-2026 season. Congratulations to current second-shift player Noah Waymouth, who will have his fee paid by the Optimist Club of Tavistock and the Royals.
