Taste of Summer set records, both in terms of funds raised and in the number of people who attended.

The fifth presentation of the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital Foundation event continued the trend of seeing more money raised each year. Attendance was estimated at more than 2,000 people.

“Donations are still coming in, and we’re close to about $45,000 raised,” said Gerry Dearing, foundation executive director.

He was happy with the day, was thankful the weather was good, and heard the same from the vendors.

“The food trucks were happy with their day and the numbers they had,” he said, adding a thank you to those who attended from himself and the board.

With Taste of Summer complete, planning is underway for future events, including the annual foundation golf tournament in the fall.
