New heating, cooling business in Tillsonburg

Two veterans of the heating and cooling industry have come together to form a new business.

J.P. Riches, who is from Tillsonburg and started Riches Heating and Cooling in 2019, joined with Delhi native Bill Szucsko to start Tillson Mechanical on April 1. Szucsko started Solo Mechanical in Dorchester in 2011, and Riches worked for him while he was taking his apprenticeship.

“We help each other when we get busy,” Szucsko said. “It just got to be so much so we joined up.”

“I didn’t want to work alone anymore and we always worked well together,” Riches added.

Tillson Mechanical offers service on heating, water heaters, duct work, and air conditioning, both in residential or commercial. This includes furnaces, fireplaces pool heaters, gas and barbecue lines, in-floor heating and sheet metal fabrication. The company sells Rheem furnaces and air conditioners.

Between Riches and Szucsko they have over 40 years of combined service and sales in heating and air conditioning. They also have another technician and an apprentice.

Asked what sets them apart from the competition, Szucsko answered, “We have more invested and care more about our customers.” He also said the phone is always on.
