Woodstock Navy played three Greater Ontario Hockey League games in three days and came away with two points after a 4-2 home-ice victory over Listowel on Minor Hockey Night at Southwood Arena.
Defenceman Colby Branton led the attack with one goal and two assists while Maddyx Chaput, Even Giannone and Jaxon Bagshaw also found the back of the net for Woodstock. Landyn Quirk made 24 saves in goal for his second win of the season as the Navy Vets outshot the Cyclones 31-26.
At home on Friday, Woodstock dropped a 4-2 decision to LaSalle after taking a 2-1 in a first period that saw five pucks find the back of the net. 16-year-old rookie Sebastian Fortin scored both goals for the Navy Vets in his first regular season game since returning from a hand injury in a preseason game. Fortin, a 16-year-old hometown defenceman, was drafted in the fifth round (95th overall) by North Bay in the 2026 Ontario Hockey League draft.
Friday night’s game was also the first ice time seen by Jacob Scarpelli, Maddyx Chaput and Hudsyn Chaput.
On Sunday, Woodstock travelled to Chatham to face the powerhouse Maroons, consistently one of the league’s best teams. They Navy Vets fell behind 3-0 early in the second period but goals by Giannone (shorthanded), Jordan Jacobs and Fortin tied it up by the halfway mark of the third. Bagshaw added a pair of assists in the losing effort while Landyn Quirk stopped 26 shots.
Woodstock now sports a record of four wins against five losses and sits in seventh place in the GOHL’s Western Conference.
The Nay Vets will host Strathroy Rockets on Friday night at Southwood Arena for Breast Cancer Awareness Night and then travel to Cambridge to face the Redhawks on Saturday night.
