Little Ones Marketplace provides a venue for families to shop, save and sell

Get ready to buy or sell gently used infant and children's items at the Little Ones Marketplace!
The Tillsonburg Kinette Club is putting on the event on Saturday, October 24 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Tillsonburg Minor Soccer Clubhouse at 275 Quarter Town Line.
It's a great opportunity for parents, grandparents and guardians to purge outgrown toys, books, clothing, sporting goods, games, puzzles, and large baby items. Sellers set their own prices. Shoppers will benefit from a sustainable and economical way to find items they need while supporting local families.
“This is a new event for the Kinettes,” treasurer and event Chair Theresa MacDougall said. “My daughter was the inspiration. She attended a similar event and thought it would be a great idea to host one here in Tillsonburg. When I suggested it to the Kinettes, several members immediately came on board to help out by forming a committee.”
For those who would like to sell, space is limited, but it's easy to secure your table. The cost is $25 per table, and you can message the Kinettes for more information or use the link on their Facebook page to fill out a Google form to reserve your table. There are also posters around town with a QR code or you can email tillsonburgkinettesevents@gmail.com.
For shoppers, it might be a good idea to bring your own reusable shopping bags.
“Bringing your own bags will help but we will encourage vendors to perhaps have a few on hand,” MacDougall said. “If we generate enough interest, and if the attendance is good, perhaps this will become an annual event. With it being a new event, we really need people to spread the word, buy a table and attend.”
The Little Ones Marketplace will be a great benefit to families at a time when every proverbial penny counts.
“The marketplace will hopefully provide an excellent opportunity for young families to purchase good quality, necessary items at a fair price, while giving vendors a chance to repurpose items they no longer need,” MacDougall said. “Perhaps the marketplace will generate a cycle where the same families will buy and/or sell items, depending on current circumstances.”
