The Tillsonburg Kinettes are inviting local ladies to attend their first Brunch and Bubbly event on Sunday, Sept. 27 at the Carriage Hall (25 Brock Street) from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
This Ladies only 19+ event features mimosas and bubbly, a delicious breakfast, silent auction with donated items from local businesses, and dancing. There may even be a surprise guest in attendance.
The Kinettes have often held evening events, but this time around they wanted to respond to frequent feedback from people who don't typically stay up late. Proposed by Kinette Rachelle Barrett, this daytime party, complete with food, drinks and dancing, fits the bill.
“Several members eagerly jumped on board to brainstorm to make an event all our own,” Barrett said. “Preparation has been smooth. We are thankful to work with Marcel and Laurie of the Carriage Hall, who were immediately receptive when co-chairs, Rachelle Barrett and Adele Black met with them about this idea in February. We have an active committee of 10 members who have all stepped up to make all the pieces fall into place.”
From noon to 2 p.m. the dancefloor will be hopping with music provided by The Wright DJ Services - The Main Man Marlon. The Kinettes have been sharing information about the event on their Facebook page and have invited requests for your favorite songs.
“We are thankful for discounted pricing offered by the Carriage Hall for the food, and the DJ - The Wright DJ Services, who also provided the music for our Ladies of the 80s night,” Barrett said. “The discounts allow more money to go back into the community.”
Tickets have been selling fast, and are available online, through a link on the Kinettes Facebook page. Every $40 ticket sold helps to make a difference, and all proceeds will be channelled back into the community.
“We would like everyone to know that all proceeds are put back into the community,” Barrett said. “With some of the proceeds we plan to make an October donation to Team Shan, Breast Cancer Awareness, as Breast Cancer is something that has affected so many women and families, including Kinette members. Additionally, every year we support the Helping Hand Food Bank of Tillsonburg, and plan to use event funds to continue that tradition. If there are any additional funds that are able to be allocated, all club members will vote on where those funds go.
