Kiwanis Club of Ingersoll to host fourth annual fashion show

"You will have so much fun. It is just a fun night,” said Jane Cole, co-organizer of the Kiwanis Club of Ingersoll’s Fashion Show of the upcoming event.

The Kiwanis Club of Ingersoll will have its fourth annual Fashion Show at Belle Vie Carnegie Hall on Sept. 16. The fashion show will feature fall attire from Hometown Style, Little Town Beauty Boutique, Patina’s, Roberts and Co. Ladies Wear, and Sew Stylish Wedding Works. There will also be a cash bar, door prizes, a raffle draw featuring prizes from local businesses, and snacks provided by Tremblett’s Your Independent Grocer.

"It's all local. Everything is local,” said Cole.

Proceeds from the fashion show will support Kiwanis Youth Projects from the local Key Club, which provides opportunities for teenagers who would like to become part of the Kiwanis Club of Ingersoll. In the past, the Key Club sold around 200 turkey meals around Christmas at the high school and donated Mother’s Day flowers to a retirement home. Key Club members also decide how the fundraising money will support the community.

"What I'm trying to do is get the town to know about the Key Club. It’s taken us a while to get the town to know about Kiwanis, but we keep pushing it out there so people can realize what we all do, the Kiwanis Club of Ingersoll, because our motto is one child at a time,” Cole said.

There will be three Key Club members featured in the fashion show, as well as a representative from the Children’s Health Foundation. The Kiwanis Club of Ingersoll supports the Children’s Health Foundation often, as children in Ingersoll and the area in need of medical care go to the Children’s Hospital in London, Ont.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and the fashion show begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $50 each and can either be purchased by calling 519-902-5999 or in person at Roberts and Co. Ladies Wear on 122 Thames St. S.
