Literally hundreds of spectators lined the streets of Wellesley Village last Friday evening as one of the largest and longest annual Santa Claus Parades took place to put everyone in a joyous mood for Christmas.

For a village the size of Wellesley, one has to be impressed as it seems everyone in the area gets involved with lights and decorations on their floats and farm machinery.

The comments from those who attended this year’s Christmas Tyme in Wellesley Parade Dec. 13 said they were more than impressed with the number of area organizations, families and church groups eager to take part in the yearly Christmas ritual.

Parade chairperson Jackie Gingerich said her whole family has been involved for years, and every year, she is more impressed than the year before with the interest that has evolved.

This year, with the number of parade entries the crowd was treated to, the parade took close to an hour to complete from one end of the village to the other.
