Wendy and Marvin Bachert and their families hope everyone will stop by their Wild Hog Country Market, just east of Stratford, to help them celebrate their fifth anniversary.

After five years, Wild Hog Country Market owners are confident their store is unmatched when it comes to quality.

Owners Marvin and Wendy Bachert, along with their son Devin, feel its patrons will find the meats, fruits and high quality produce they sell can go toe-to-toe with most other country markets in southwestern Ontario and are unmatched.

All three owners say it is hard to believe that this week was their fifth anniversary of starting the market.

To give a little history, the family has been in the meat butchering business since 1975, when Marvin’s father and mother, Keith and Janet Bachert, started their own butcher shop on their farm. Janet was a Bender and raised and has family roots near Tavistock.

The Bacherts’ oldest son Derick and his wife Kaitlynn now own the original farm’s butcher shop, in fact, named Bachert Meats Inc. near Walton.

Marvin said that since they always had their own livestock and meat processing facility, the missing piece was a retail store, hence the building of the Wild Hog Country Market near Stratford.

Now five years later, the Bacherts are sincerely thanking all their patrons for the support, loyalty and encouragement that have made the Wild Hog what it is today.

As a token of their appreciation, they invited the community to join them this past week, celebrating the milestones with huge storewide savings, daily prize draws, ice cream, samples of their favourite products and plenty of surprises besides.

Whether you’ve been shopping with them since the beginning or only recently discovering them, the Bacherts are thanking you for being part of their journey.
