The Optimist Club of Petersburg hosted its annual Breakfast with Santa Claus on Saturday, Dec. 13, bringing holiday cheer to local families.

The event was held at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Petersburg. The club would like to thank the church for generously providing space for this special event.

Thirty-nine children visited Santa and delivered letters filled with Christmas wishes. Children, parents and grandparents enjoyed a delicious breakfast and created festive holiday crafts together.

The event also supported those in need, with generous donations totaling 150 pounds of food and $75 in cash collected for the Wilmot and Wellesley Resource Centre.

The Optimist Club continued its Christmas tradition of Breakfast with Santa by putting its “Friend of the Youth” motto into action. Local families enjoyed breakfast and the event also raised funds to support individuals and families in need, making it a memorable holiday celebration for the community.
