The crowning of the Tavistock Fall Fair Ambassador turned into a family affair Friday night as Sophie Pullen was selected to wear the crown before a large crowd at Memorial Hall.

This year marked the 39th Tavistock Fall Fair Ambassador competition, and Pullen continued a family tradition by following in the footsteps of her sisters, Lily and Emma Pullen, who have also previously served as fair ambassadors.

Sponsored by the Princess Elizabeth Women’s Institute, Sophie Pullen was one of three contestants competing for the 2026-2027 title.

Joining her in the competition were Cassidy Heintz, sponsored by the Opti-Mrs. of Tavistock, and Charlee Harvey, sponsored by the Optimist Club of Tavistock.

This year’s judges were Andrea Vrbanac of Chatham-Kent, Paige Fawcett of Stratford and Stephanie Szusz of New Hamburg. All three are former ambassadors for their respective fairs and understand firsthand the challenges that come with competing for the title.

The judges said the competition remained close among all three contestants right to the end and congratulated each of them on a job well done.

Pullen was officially crowned by outgoing 2025-2026 Tavistock Fall Fair Ambassador Brooklyn Ross, beginning her year representing the fair and the Tavistock community.
