Softball, compared to baseball, is a relatively new game, developed in the late 1880’s. Believe it or not, softball was first played indoors, with a broomstick and a boxing glove tied up to look like a ball. The biggest advantage that drove softball to outdoor parks was that softball's field dimensions were much smaller than baseball's.

The Western Conference Quarterfinals went the distance, but the Stratford Hunter Steel Warriors prevailed in a 6-3 win over the London Nationals in Game 7 on March 25, setting up the rematch from last year’s semifinal series with the Chatham Maroons.

The GOHL Western Conference Quarterfinal series between the fourth-seeded Stratford Hunter Steel Warriors and the fifth-seeded London Nationals is heading to a deciding game after the Warriors were unable to close out the series in Game 5 on March 20 and Game 6 on March 22.

Following a demanding 50-game regular season, the Stratford Hunter Steel Warriors start their pursuit of the Sutherland Cup by facing the London Nationals in the best-of-seven GOHL Western Conference Quarterfinals.

Now that they know their first-round playoff opponent, the only remaining question for the Stratford Hunter Steel Warriors is who will hold home ice advantage at the start of the playoffs, as the regular season nears its end.
