The Paris Wolfpack U11 House League Team 3 put up a determined effort but fell just short in the intertown local league B division final, dropping a 4–2 decision to the Delhi Rockets in the deciding game of the best-of-three series Sunday, March 15.
The final game drew a packed crowd to the rink, with fans from both communities filling the stands and bringing signs, bells and noisemakers to cheer on the young players.
Delhi opened the scoring in the first period and extended its lead with two more goals in the second to take a 3–0 advantage into the final frame. Paris refused to back down. Jack Ferren sparked a third-period comeback, scoring at the nine-minute mark with a sharp shot from the corner to put the Wolfpack on the board. Just three minutes later, Ferren struck again, skating in on goal, deking the Delhi netminder and lifting the puck into the net to bring Paris within one.
The Wolfpack continued to press for the equalizer, generating several strong chances and moving the puck well in the offensive zone, but were unable to tie the game. Delhi sealed the victory with an empty-net goal in the final moments. Despite the loss, the Wolfpack capped an impressive playoff run that included a 1–0 win over the first placed Waterford Wildcats to advance to the championship series.
