WCI holds charity concert in support of Sakura House

Woodstock Collegiate Institute successfully hosted its tenth annual Concert for the Cure on April 24.

The evening was in support of VON Sakura House Hospice through musical performance and community engagement. Admission was free, and tax receptable donations were accepted throughout the evening. All funds collected

This year’s program featured a diverse roster of performers, including current WCI music students, alumni returning from post secondary music programs, and special guests affiliated with the school’s Music and Music Theatre departments. The evening showcased a wide range of musical styles, from contemporary arrangements to classical selections, highlighting the depth and versatility of WCI’s arts community.

Event organizers reported strong attendance and positive engagement from families, staff, and community members. Volunteers coordinated front of house operations, managed donation intake, and supported technical requirements to ensure a seamless production.

Representatives from Sakura House noted that community led initiatives such as Concert for the Cure play a vital role in sustaining hospice services, which rely heavily on local fundraising to support patient care, family resources, and operational needs.
