United Way Oxford is preparing to launch its latest fundraising campaign.
The annual campaign kickoff event will take place at Wedding Ways at Rose Hill in Woodstock on Thursday, Sept. 24. It will serve not only as an information session about United Way but will also give those in attendance an inside look at what’s ahead for the organization in the coming year.
Executive Director Kelly Gilson says the annual event brings together the organization’s community partners to discuss what the future holds.
"The United Way Oxford Kickoff is our way of celebrating the work of many and inspiring our entire community to join us in making meaningful social change. Together, we can change lives," said Gilson.
Attendees will learn more about United Way in general and get a sneak peak as to what they can expect for the year ahead. There will also be a special presentation from a registered dietitian, highlighting the connections between income, food insecurity and overall health.
United Way will also present the 2026 Wes Magill Award to a local individual or organization to honour their volunteer work and community service.
This is a lunch event from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., and tickets cost $30 each. They can be purchased through Eventbrite before Monday, Sept. 21.
