The Town of Cobourg and Experience Cobourg are inviting residents and visitors to set up a lawn chair or lay out a blanket and settle in for the annual “Movies Under the Stars” series this summer.

The Town of Cobourg and Experience Cobourg will have the cameras rolling for several movies being shown at Victoria Park or Victoria Beach.

Next up is the showing of “Field of Dreams” starring Kevin Costner, which is on Friday, July 31.

Movies start at dusk, which is at about 8:30 p.m. for most of the flicks.

Here’s the line-up for the summer:

  • Friday, July 31: “Field of Dreams” is being shown in Victoria Park. This movie was rescheduled from July 18 due to air quality advisories at the time related to wildfires in the province.

  • Monday, Aug. 3: The “Minecraft Movie” is being shown at the beach.

  • Saturday, Aug. 8: “Lilo & Stitch” is being shown in Victoria Park. This movie was also rescheduled from its original slated date due to weather conditions.

  • Saturday, Aug. 22: “Superman” is being shown on the Cobourg beach.

  • Saturday, Sept. 5: “Hoppers” is being shown in Victoria Park.

Finally, there will be a special feature screening Marie Dressler’s Oscar-winning film “Min and Bill” on Saturday, Sept. 12 at about 7:45 p.m. in the Esplanade area.
