Theft from Avondale Cemetery

Between May 26th to May 28th, 2025, the Stratford Police Service has received several reports regarding the theft of, and damage to, headstone plaques at the Avondale Cemetery, in the City of Stratford.
The plaques were stolen from various areas of the cemetery and are believed to have been stolen, or damaged, after May 22, 2025.
Two of the stolen plaques are bronze in colour and 10 inches by 10 inches in size. Another stolen plaque is described as black and gold in colour and is circular in shape. Another is also black and gold, square in shape. Photos of some plaques have been included.
At this time there are no suspects in this matter. The Stratford Police Service is requesting that anyone with information is asked to contact Cst Tanner Johnson, Badge #126 at tjohnson@stratfordpolice.com.
Individuals who have headstones of loved ones at Avondale Cemetery are requested to check the headstone and surrounding area for any stolen items or damage and to contact police with any information.
