The Barkery’s 25th Paw-Ty brings in lots of dogs and pet parents alike

Heidi Rolleman, owner of the Barkery, celebrated 25 years of her business with lots of activities and giveaways for humans and their pups alike.

There were lots of ways for the Barkery customers and their dogs to celebrate a monumental business anniversary for the homemade dog treat business.

The Barkery held its 25th birthday party on July 4. Happy dogs and their families came down to the event that featured cornhole, spin-the-wheel and treats for humans and dogs alike.

"It feels like a huge accomplishment for a small business and we are proud to be providing the most healthiest treats around,” Heidi Rolleman, owner of the Barkery, said about the anniversary.

Several downtown businesses, including revel, the Livery Yard, Chocolate Barr’s, Taylor’s Delicatessen, Poppin Kettle Corn, Pitter Patter Pet Spa and Black Swan Brewing Co. also had special treats in honour of the occasion. The participating businesses also gave out coupons for the Barkery whenever a celebratory treat was purchased.

"It feels really great to be having a really big community helping us out to celebrate,” said Rolleman.

The Barkery also collected donations for the Humane Society of Kitchener-Waterloo and Stratford Perth and held an adoption event with the organization.

"We definitely need to support them. They have a lot of high bills to cover for dogs that are needing people,” Rolleman said.
