TD Summer Reading Club returns to County of Brant Library branches

With summer vacation just around the corner, the County of Brant Library is inviting children and teens to spend their break exploring the world of books through the annual TD Summer Reading Club.

The popular program officially launches June 26 and encourages young readers to stay engaged with reading throughout the summer months while earning rewards and prizes along the way.

This year's program features a sea-inspired theme designed to encourage participants to "dive into" reading wherever and whenever they choose.

Registration opens during launch events taking place at library branches across the county. The Paris Branch will host a launch party on Friday, June 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., while all County of Brant Library branches will offer registration opportunities from June 26 to June 28 during regular operating hours.

Children up to age 12 can participate in the TD Summer Reading Club by tracking the minutes they spend reading throughout the summer. Participants earn rewards as they reach reading milestones and are entered for the chance to win prizes.

The library will also continue its Teen Summer Reading Club for readers aged 13 and older, offering opportunities for youth to maintain and develop their reading habits during the school break.

Library staff hope to build on the success of last year's program, which saw participants in the TD Summer Reading Club and Teen Summer Reading Club collectively log 515,890 minutes of reading.

This summer, the library has set a community goal of surpassing 520,000 minutes. Registration and reading logs are available through Beanstack. More information about the program can be found at County of Brant Library's Summer Reading Club page.

"We're challenging our community to read together all summer long and see if we can reach 520,000 minutes or more," library staff said. "Whether it's a picture book, graphic novel, chapter book or audiobook, every minute counts."
