Tavistock Missionary Church Block Party brings community together

Sunny skies and warm weather provided the perfect setting for the Tavistock Missionary Church Block Party on Sunday, June 28, as families from Tavistock and surrounding communities gathered for a day of food, fun and fellowship.

The free community event began with an outdoor worship service at 11 a.m., followed by a barbecue featuring hamburgers and hotdogs along with cotton candy, games, a bouncy castle and activities for children of all ages.

Pastor Darryl Siemens said the event reflects the church's desire to strengthen connections within the community.

"Our goal is building community," said Siemens. "We hope it will be a blessing to everyone who comes here."

Siemens said the church hopes to host similar community events several times throughout the year.

Planning is already underway for the church's annual Fall Expo. This year's event is expected to be even bigger, with more vendors and a carnival-style atmosphere featuring fun activities for the whole family.
