Members of the North Easthope Antique Tractor Club (NEAT) rolled into Tavistock last week for a fundraising breakfast hosted by the Tavistock Men’s Club.
With dozens of antique tractors that once worked fields throughout the area parked nearby, 42 club members sat down together for a hearty breakfast, conversation and a chance to catch up on the happenings of the week.
During the gathering, NEAT members also offered their condolences to the men’s club following the recent passing of longtime member and Tavistock-area farmer Keith Wiffen.
Proceeds from the breakfast will help the Tavistock Men’s Club continue supporting organizations and activities throughout the community.
Among the groups that have received support from the club are local 4-H clubs, Team Unity Synchronized Skating, the Tavistock and District Figure Skating Club, Tavistock Athletics ball teams and the Tavistock Tornadoes soccer program.
The club also continues to operate the food booth at the Tavistock arena with the help of local volunteers, something members have been doing for many years.
While the club’s popular sauerkraut is currently sold out, members will soon be preparing another batch once locally grown cabbages are ready for harvest.
