The Tavistock Men’s Club’s annual Sauerkraut Supper has become a much-loved tradition since it began in the early ‘70s. The town’s Men’s Club has been getting ready for months and comments from area eaters on the meal said this year’s kraut and pork chops has never been better. Now run as a drive through, it was still amazing to drop into the hall and see not only dozens of men’s club members working, but also wives, partners and friends helping out. Ross Schumm, who chairs the annual feast, said the club was more than thankful to the community for again supporting their major fundraiser. He also wanted to give special thanks to the major donors and suppliers that made the night a success. They include Beanhaven Family Farm, Cascade Boxes, Murray’s Produce, Quehl’s Restaurant, Sam’s Your Independent Grocer, Saputo Cheese, Tavistock Fire Department and the Butcher Barn.Members of the men’s club are reminding everyone that they are selling two-and-a-half to three-pound bags of their sauerkraut until supplies run out from their Kraut House behind their hall on Woodstock Street North. Sale dates include Dec. 7, 14, and 21 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call Schumm at 519-535-3201 for more information.
