St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church to host annual Red Shed ham and corn roast

St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church is inviting the community to its annual Red Shed Ham and Corn Roast on Thursday, Aug. 20.

The church, located at the corner of Perth Line 45 and Perth Road 106 in North Easthope Township, continues a tradition inspired by the historic red shed beside the church.

Many rural churches once had sheds where those travelling to weekly services by horse and buggy could shelter their horses from the weather while attending worship.

Doors for this year's event open at 5:30 p.m., with the ham and corn roast dinner beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Guests will also enjoy live traditional country music by dynamic duo Dianne and the Cavaliers.

Advance tickets are required. Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for children ages six to 12 and free for children under six.
