Smoke break inspires Dusters’ goalies and the month ends with end-to-end ‘action’

*Editor’s note. This is a special two week report so buckle up and get ready to catch up on all the Dusters’ action!

Like most of southwestern Ontario, yes, the Dusters had a smoke break in July. This break inspired Duster goalies to heat up! Goalie Neufeld and Goalie Montour were undoubtedly the stars of the day. Nothing got by them that didn't deserve a good home in the back of the net. 

Blood was drawn as Opy and Paul met on the blue line. Opy was asked and just said, “I turned right....right into Paul". Paul could not be reached for comment.

It has been said that JY is a giving sort of guy. Likely, that may have been a quote from JY's defensive teammates. They wondered why that giving spirit seems to apply to the opposing team. Perhaps in future JY could not "give" the puck to players in the other colour? Just saying.

The offence of Sean and Brian was hard to beat. Until they met the defence of Butters and Braeden. Even Greg and Spencer couldn't deal with that juggernaut! 

But folks the day belonged to the Crease Sentinels! It was they who made saves like no one's business!!! An intense day in blue ice.

On July 30th, the Dusters were back with some end to end magic to finish out the month.

If you like speed, power and goals galore...you probably won't be that into Dusters Hockey. However, if you want to see the personification of "all roads lead to shinny" then you want to be at the BSC on Thursdays at 5:30pm.

The return of Big Ken Grasley sparked the group to a level of intensity not seen this year. An anonymous defender was quoted, "I stepped out for a coffee and a muffin between shifts; before I knew it, the score was 0-0..." It's that intensity that underscores Dusters Hockey to the utmost. So much head turning to the point that Sean just wears his jersey backwards to keep up!

No shortage of physical play out there either. Just ask Goalie Greg! Chris and Jim became quite familiar with the blue ice this week and indeed, have paid their price! Peace Ambassador Camstone ensured that dues would be paid. In all honest words, if hard feelings did exist, they don't last. 

And so, the month ended. With dreams still long passed away, the boys look to August. There are four more games in the Duster League 2026. All Thursdays in August, all at the Brant Sports Complex and all at 5:30 pm!
