Roseneath man, 34, facing child luring, child sexual abuse material-related offences: Cobourg police

By West Northumberland Independent staff
A 34-year-old Roseneath man is facing a slew of charges after a Cobourg police investigation into alleged “child luring and child sexual abuse material offences,” say police.
Back in August 2026, the Cobourg Police Service said its criminal investigation bureau team initiated an investigation after receiving a report involving alleged child luring, invitation to sexual touching, making sexually explicit material available to a child, and possession of child sexual abuse material.
As a result of the investigation, on Monday, Oct. 26, 2026, Cody Holtz, 34, of Roseneath, was arrested and charged with three counts of child luring, three counts of invitation to sexual touching, one count of making sexual explicit material available to a child, and one count of possession of child sexual abuse material.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
Police are reminding residents that reports of online child exploitation can also be made to Canada’s national tipline for reporting the online sexual exploitation of children at Cybertip.ca.
