Ralph brings previous political experience to her bid for a seat in Woodstock

Maureen Ralph served as a municipal councillor and deputy mayor for the Township of East Zorra-Tavistock (EZT) for 27 years but was born and raised in Woodstock.

“I spent a lifetime caring for people and serving the community I call home. After completing my nursing degree (RN) in Woodstock, I began a career grounded in compassion, active listening and practical problem-solving- the same values that have guided me throughout my years in public service.”

Ralph said she worked tirelessly to ensure residents' voices were heard, tax dollars were spent wisely, and decisions were made with fairness and transparency.

“My leadership style has always been steady, values-based and focused on results that truly matter to people. With a deep commitment to community service, I bring extensive experience to my campaign for municipal councillor, as I gained deep experience in budgets, infrastructure and long-term community planning.”

She added she helped guide major projects, including the planning and construction of a new arena, the transition of local police services, and significant community development, carefully balancing community needs with financial responsibility.

“Over the years, I served on a wide range of committees, including the EZT Police Service Board, Erie Thames Hydro Board, Recreation Board and the Ingersoll/Tillsonburg Hospital Board, just to name a few. My collaborative approach and dedication strengthened local programs and policy.”

Ralph also represented EZT for three years on Oxford County Council, gaining county-level governance experience and a broad perspective of municipal operations.

“My record reflects a proven ability to listen, collaborate, and deliver results for residents,” she explained.

Now retired and living back in Woodstock, Ralph said she is ready to bring her experience, enthusiasm and commitment to public service home to serve as a strong, caring and approachable voice on Woodstock City Council.

“My priorities reflect what I have always stood for - transparent, accountable representation so residents can easily understand and engage with their local government. I will strive to bring compassionate leadership to address homelessness and mental health issues through collaboration and community partnerships, and practical, results-driven decision-making that ensures Woodstock continues to grow responsibly while maintaining the small-city character and connectedness that makes it special.”

Ralph said she is seeking a seat on council because the Friendly City needs experienced, calm voices at the table — people who understand how city hall works and who focus on finding real solutions rather than politics and drama.

“I believe leadership starts with listening. I am dedicated to building a city where every resident feels supported, respected and heard - because caring for our community isn't just my background; it is who I am.”
