Paris Duffers: Golf with a Side of Drama

Hello, Brant sports fans, and welcome to another roundup of all the events from the greens of Burford!

Sometimes the game of golf can be a bit slow, with cries of "boring" ringing out as yet another tee shot goes straight and predictable down the fairway. 

Well, that is definitely not a problem with this group. We bring the drama every single week. Let’s get started.

This week, we welcomed back one of our own as Rat Fink joined his brother Double G to take on Billy B and Ferg. 

Even though Fergy actually found his game for once (don't worry, he’ll likely lose it again next week) and Billy B has fully mastered his signature trick shot—skipping his ball right across the bridge—it wasn't enough. The powerhouse team of GG and GG carved out a tight, one-stroke victory.

In the next group, Big Al and AA faced off against Sinc and Swanee in a match that briefly turned into a hazard zone. On the 15th hole, AA’s second shot struck a rock and ricocheted backward, missing Sinc's head by mere inches before landing all the way back on the ladies' tee.

Just two shots later, he was at it again—this time firing a ball clean through the golf cart occupied by Big Al, missing him by inches. AA's casual defense? "At least I didn't kill anyone."

Down going into the final hole, Swanee and Sinc invoked the rare and dramatic "Double Dog Dare" press. Swanee came through under immense pressure, pulling off an amazing chip and putt to win the hole. I warned you guys last week to watch out for the rookie!

 Enzo and Kopper ended up having to buy the post-round milk for Birdy, Chicken, and Hoogs. 

On the bright side, at least they didn’t have to dodge any incoming fire from AA. 

Meanwhile, J and Cutter successfully claimed bragging rights and victory over Jacque and Brownie.

Quote of the Week: In response to the casual course question, "Who's the a-hole here?" the Birdman perfectly summarized the entire league: "Any one of us, at any given time."

 Word on the street is that there is a big croquet tournament happening soon. We sincerely hope local EMS won't be required. Play safe, you mallet heads!
