At Burford the Duffers were greeted with the spirit of Aloha as the course celebrated Hawaiian shirt day. Although reminders were put in place, it was reminiscent of school days when you " forgot my homework". Which is to say we had only a few people who dressed for the occasion. To you guys I say Mahalo.
It seems we need to split up the team of Jaquer and Hoogs as they won every hole against JBird and Sync. With shots like Hoogster sinking a 35 footer from off the green at #2, it was clear we need to break this duo up.
Next up, even though Billy B and Swanee quickly went up three holes, the formidable Big Ferg and Mad Al came back with a vengeance to secure the milk by maintaining their one shot lead on the final hole.
In what was an example of not thinking things through, Barefoot Bergie and Double G pressed Cutter and Chicken on the last hole despite being outplayed badly on every hole. Finally Kopper and Brownie overthrew Dino and Enzo to close out the day.
We do have a request from Kaitlin and Jake Hoogs to become honorary members of the Duffs. As we aren't too proud we said a round of milk should do it.
We'll see how that goes. Quote from myself about not taking strokes from Cutter, "I may lose but I lose with dignity".
Finally, we lost a Paris legend a few weeks back with the passing of our beloved Gordy Johnston. Everyone of us who grew up in this town has the stories and memories of this man who was active in his community in so many ways. Known by many and loved by all. Godspeed Gord.
And keep em in the fairways
