After a transport truck carrying turkey carcasses on its way to a feed mill made a sudden stop on Ontario Street, the street had to be closed down for two hours to clean up the resulting mess.
On April 16, shortly after 4:30 p.m., the Stratford Police Service received a report of the incident, which occurred on Ontario Street west of Road 111.
Police report that a vehicle turned left in front of the transport truck, causing its automatic emergency brakes to be activated. The sudden stop resulted in the turkey carcasses being ejected over the top of the trailer and landing all over the roadway.
No charges are being laid; however, the company that owned the truck took care of the two hour clean-up.
