Woodstock Police responded to multiple calls of gunshots last night (Thursday) in a residential area near the city’s hospital.
Police arrived at a residence on Champlain Ave. around 7:30 and located two people with gunshot wounds. One person was transported to hospital with serious injuries and is expected to make a recovery while the other was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police said a firearm has been recovered and the investigation revealed the parties are known to each other and there is no risk to the public.
Witnesses say a male in his 20s who lives on the street was found on a neighbour’s front lawn suffering from a chest wound. They add he eventually died on the scene.
