Robert Bruce “Bob” Currah, age 69, passed away peacefully at Wildwood Care, St. Marys on December 27, 2025. Born in Stratford, October 15, 1956, son of the late John and Audrey (Zehr) Currah. Bob is survived by his siblings William (Marlene), Thomas, Kathy Bell (Keith), Susan Elzinga, Sandra Rolleman. He will be remembered by several nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by brother-in-law Jasper Elzinga.

Bob worked at Martin’s Feed Mill, A O Smith and Vic West Steel. Bob had a traumatic car accident and head injury at the age of 19 and suffered from mental illness over the course of his life. Even with mental illness, Bob showed he was an entrepreneur with gardening skills and being known as ‘Bob the Builder’.

Bob was a founding member of the Phoenix Survivors in Stratford and volunteered many hours into this organization. Bob was also a major supplier of vegetable produce to The Local and to the House of Blessing from the many gardens he worked and managed in Stratford. He received the ‘Paul Harris Fellow Award’ and funding from the Rotary Club of Stratford and an award from CMHA for his many volunteer hours. Andy and Bruce were his dear friends and helpers in maintaining ‘God’s gardens’ as Bob often referred to them.

Bob will be remembered for his sense of humour and for his love of donating and giving to the needy.

We thank the staff at Wildwood Care Centre for their care and compassion and seeing to Bob’s needs. Also, a special thank you to the ACT Team Stratford during his time in Stratford and a huge thank you to Dr.’s Foster and Judson.
