Northumberland County has received an industry award for its annual report.

The county received the “MarCom Gold Award” for the design of its 2025 annual report. The 2025 report is Northumberland’s first digital version of the yearly publication.

“The annual report is a key transparency measure for the county – it’s about accountability to the people we serve,” said outgoing Warden Bob Crate. “We have produced this resource every year for the last 12 years and throughout that time, we have continued to evolve how we present information to make it accessible and engaging for residents.

“This award is wonderful recognition of that ongoing commitment, and of the creativity and care our staff bring to helping residents understand the work of the county and the value of the services we deliver.”

The 2025 annual report provides an overview of the county’s financial performance from that fiscal year, including access to the full audited financial statements for the organization, explained county staff.

In addition, the report includes information about county services and advancements and accomplishments from 2025, along with priorities being addressed in 2026. The report aims to equip residents with a better understanding of how their tax dollars are being put to work to deliver services in the community, added officials.

This year’s award marks the eighth consecutive year that Northumberland County has received recognition for the design of its annual report publication.

The report is available to view via Northumberland.ca/AnnualReport.

The annual MarCom Awards are described as an international creative competition that honours excellence in marketing and communication. The awards are administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals – an organization that consists of several thousand marketing, communication, advertising, public relations, digital and web professionals from around the world.
