The grand opening of Il Posto Giusto Ristorante last Monday marked the latest addition to a wave of new businesses helping reshape downtown Paris this year. Located beside the Arlington Hotel’s River’s Edge event space, the family-owned and operated restaurant features an authentic Italian menu inspired by classic recipes and traditional cuisine.

The opening of Il Posto Giusto follows several other recent business launches in the downtown core, including Oui Three Girls, Modella Ladieswear, Duey’s Ice Cream and Paris Without Crepes? at The Paris Wincey Mills Co., reflecting continued investment and momentum in the community’s downtown business scene.

Il Posto Giusto Ristorante is owned by the Riverso family, Lisa and Riccardo Riverso and their four children Ricky (and general manager), Alessandro, Victoria and Bella. It is a family affair and they also have a team of staff supporting the operations.

The restaurant space is small but airy and bright, there’s even a little patio with several tables overlooking the Grand River, giving it the perfect ambience. The menu has a range of authentic Italian dishes, offering something for pasta lovers, pizza enthusiasts, antipasto fans and more. You can dine in, order take out, or even grab some convenient make at home dishes from a refrigerator stocked with meals you can take home for those nights on the go.

Make sure you leave room for dessert; there is a huge dessert menu to choose from because the space is not only a restaurant but also features a scrumptious Italian bakery. “Our bakery was inspired by our late Nonno Peter. He immigrated from Cosenza, Italy to Hamilton in 1965. Nonno Peter had a love for baking and turned it into a career for himself, opening up his own bakery and becoming well known for his amazing cannoli,” said the Riverso family.

The grand opening event on May 4 was attended by a number of dignitaries, representatives from the Brant business community and invited guests, including Mayor David Bailey and County of Brant Chamber of Commerce members. Councillor for Ward 2, Steve Howes, put it succinctly, in a Facebook post later that day: ‘More delicious reasons to visit Downtown Paris!’

Il Posto Giusto, means "The Right Place" and the Riverso family have created a place that’s full of warmth, generosity, and flavour. Go check it out, meet the family and try it for yourself! Il Posto Giusto Ristorante is open Fridays and Saturdays 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday to Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. You can make a reservation online or drop in and try your luck. Good luck to Riverso family and welcome to downtown Paris!
