NEAT members bring antique tractors to Tavistock

Dozens of antique tractors rolled into downtown Tavistock last week as members of the North Easthope Antique Tractor (NEAT) Club gathered for their weekly breakfast and community visit.

Club members met at Quehl's Restaurant before touring The Maples Home for Seniors, where residents enjoyed seeing the vintage machinery and meeting the owners.

Many NEAT members are retired farmers who spent their careers working the land with tractors similar to those they now restore and proudly display. Others have ties to agriculture through family members or careers in the agricultural industry.

Throughout the summer, the club travels to communities across the region, showcasing historic farm equipment while supporting local businesses and community organizations.

In addition to visiting non-profit organizations that welcome the displays, members also make a point of patronizing local businesses that contribute to the community and provide employment opportunities for area residents.

The weekly outings offer members an opportunity to share stories, preserve agricultural history and celebrate the machinery that helped shape farming in Perth County and beyond.
