Music fills the air at the Maples in Tavistock

Music was in the air at the Maples Home for Seniors in Tavistock last week as residents tapped their toes and hummed along to familiar songs from years gone by.

Local musician Hayward Vokey, who lives nearby on Quartz Street, entertained residents with a selection of well-known tunes on his keyboard.

Vokey performs as a one-man show under the name “Melody Man” and enjoys taking seniors on a trip down memory lane with music many remember dancing to at local halls in and around Tavistock.

The familiar songs brought plenty of smiles and helped create an enjoyable afternoon for residents.
