Mike’s Lanes celebrates 65 years with Beard Growers Challenge

By: Nichele Butcher-Bontrup

Mike’s Lanes is celebrating a remarkable 65 years of being part of Stratford's Winterfest traditions. This event started with the first ever Stratford Winterfest, as local businesses were asked to contribute a fun addition to the winter festivities.

This year, Mike’s Lanes are bringing together bowling, the community and good times with a special anniversary event that is sure to bring out plenty of friendly competition, and some impressive facial hair.

To mark this milestone, Mike’s Lanes is launching its 65th year of the Beard Growers Challenge, inviting participants to put down the razor, let those whiskers grow and join in the fun. And there’s plenty of incentive to participate, with fabulous prizes up for grabs, including the grand prize, a Raleigh E-Bike.

Whether you’re a seasoned beard growing pro or someone whose facial hair needs a little encouragement, this is your chance to get involved, and have some laughs.

The Beard Growers Challenge is about more than just growing a beard. It’s a celebration of the people who have made this event possible for bowlers, families, league members, friends and generations of local community residents who have walked through the doors and made memories on the lanes.

Participants are encouraged to get creative, embrace the challenge and show off their progress throughout the event. The bigger, better and more impressive the beard, the more fun the competition becomes!

With fabulous prizes, plenty of bragging rights and a Raleigh E-Bike waiting for one lucky winner, this is one anniversary celebration you won’t want to miss.

So, Stratford, put down the razor, and get growing. 65 years. Countless memories. One epic Beard Growers Challenge.
