A local author who has published seven books has recently released ‘Can I Come Home Now?’, a number one bestseller memoir on Amazon.
‘Can I Come Home Now?’ by Barbara Godin is about growing up in the Essex County area and the trauma and struggles Godin went through.
‘Can I Come Home Now?’ is a true story that is more than just a book, but more of a beacon of hope.
This bestseller on Amazon shares Godin’s journey from an abandoned child to a strong, independent woman and mother.
It offers a relatable narrative for those who have faced similar situations and offers a pathway to understanding of others.
Godin’s writing is a testament to the power of vulnerability, with raw honesty and heartwarming sincerity. Her stories delve into soul-searching experiences that shape everyone, and each book is an invitation to tap into a universal wellspring of emotion and strength.
Godin’s collection spans across memoirs, poetry, short fiction, and insightful self-help guides.
Each piece is crafted by Godin to leave readers feeling inspired and hopeful, empowering them to face life’s challenges with resilience.
Godin’s books can be ordered through Amazon, Indigo and The Village Bookshop in Bayfield carries her books. Most independent bookstores may even order it in for potential buyers.
“My hope in writing my memoir is that anyone who has experienced similar trauma will see that they can get through it and become a survivor,” added Godin.
Godin always knew she would write her story one day but it took a long time to feel ready to expose herself in such a way.
“I want others to see there is always hope,” Godin said.
She has received over 1,500 ratings and reviews and almost all were positive and were grateful for Godin sharing her story.
Godin’s memoir ‘Can I Come Home Now?’ as well as her book of short stories ‘Glimpses in Time’ and her book of poetry, ‘Seasons of the Heart’ are all books to inspire and bring hope and healing.
Godin has written the long-running and widely read ‘Dear Barb’ advice column since 2003, and in 2019 she received a first-place award from the Professional Writers Association of Canada.
In 2023, Godin received The Editor’s Choice Award of Excellence from The Reader’s House UK.
