Human remains found in SWOX

The Oxford Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police is investigating the discovery of human remains in South-West Oxford Township.
On Monday, September 1, at approximately 2:45 p.m., officers responded to a report of suspected human remains found on a property on Beachville Road. The remains were confirmed to be human.
Constable Randi Crawford said preliminary information suggests that there are no signs of a broader threat.
“Police continue to investigate and are monitoring the situation. Residents in the area can expect to see an increased police presence.”
This investigation is being conducted by the Oxford OPP Crime Unit under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch. The Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service are also involved, as are OPP Forensic Identification Services.
Crawford said more information will be released when available.
