Harvesting the Bounty fundraising gala in Delhi

Delhi Community Health Centre’s sixth annual Harvesting the Bounty gala on Saturday, Sept. 19, helped raise funds to support a health centre improvement project.
“This year we’re raising money to put in automatic door openers in the public washrooms to make the Centre more accessible to everyone,” said Lori Yeo, DCHC building administrator.
In addition to the gala dinner and dance, Harvesting the Bounty also raises money in advance through a raffle that had 10 prizes valued at $500 each. There was a silent auction table, spin the wheel, plinko, and toonie auction. DJ music was donated by Black Creek Music.
“Last year, Harvesting the Bounty raised $30,000,” said Yeo.
Funds raised at the 2025 event went toward necessary floor replacements within the health centre.
“This year, the funds that we are anticipating that we are going to raise, are going to bring the public washrooms up to date in terms of the accessibility ‘push button,’” said Matt Wilkinson, DCHC board member.
“It will only make the health centre more accessible and more welcoming to everybody within the community that needs to utilize it.”
More than 150 people shared in Harvesting the Bounty’s community spirit.
“It’s a sellout every year,” Wilkinson noted.
“It’s an extremely generous community that has been there every time to answer the call of service. I’ve said this before, I’ve never known a community as generous as Delhi.”
“I like what John (Bamford) said, the Delhi Community Health Centre is community,” said Dave Carpani, DCHC board member. “That’s what this is to me. It’s about community, it’s about engaging with ourselves and our community.”
“We would like to thank the community,” said Wilkinson. “The Board is fully invested and absolutely committed to doing everything it can do to make sure that Delhi has a long-term healthcare solution in place that will serve every member of the community.”
