Grand Bend Summer Sunset Sounds wraps up another year of concerts

Grand Bend Summer Sunset Sounds held its final concert of the year Sept. 3 on the Rotary Community Stage, wrapping up the free concert series. Toronto indie-rock band Meteor Heist opened the concert.

It was a fitting sendoff to a summer of music as the final acts of Grand Bend Summer Sunset Sounds took to the stage Sept. 3.

Held on the Rotary Community Stage at Grand Bend’s main public beach, the free concert series featured Grand Bend’s own singer-songwriter Clara Stegall as the final headliner of the year, bringing the series to a close with local flare.

Also performing during the evening was Toronto indie-rock band Meteor Heist, who opened the final concert of the series.

Grand Bend Summer Sunset Sounds was started in 2014, featuring a new lineup of artists weekly throughout the summer. Though the concert series was cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it returned in 2021 and has continued to be a popular event for beachgoers and music lovers alike.

This year’s series of concerts began July 9 with Sarah Smith and Justin Maki. Other acts featured in 2026 have included Janna Leduc, Dave Ward, Shebad, Gracie Jet, Mudmen, Warren Hargraves, Brothers Wilde, Adam Cousins, The Smoke Wagon Blues Band and Amanda Keeley.

Though the concert series was originally introduced to bring music to the beach on Sundays, 2026 marked a monumental change, shifting to Thursdays as beach crowds have continued to grow over the years.
